WAYS TO GIVE + WHY

When you donate to the Arts Club, your gift makes a difference. Every dollar goes directly toward the work on our stages, the artists who create our shows, and the youth who will be the future of theatre. Your gift will help support Education initiatives and our New Play Development program. All gifts of $20 or more will be acknowledged with a tax-deductible receipt. See below for a list of the ways you can make a difference!

Employee Matching Programs

Many Canadian workplaces match contributions made by their employees and retirees to charitable organizations like the Arts Club. Speak to your employer to see if Matching Fund Programs are available at your company.

Why put funds in the endowment? An endowment fund is a permanent fund that can help ensure a consistent stream of income that can be used to support the Arts Club’s mission for years to come. Because the capital is invested and the principal investment is never drawn down, the fund provides stability and commitment for our future. Since we still require funds for our annual operations, like costs relating to producing the shows on our stages, we are only moving 50 cents of every dollar to the endowment.

The programs are supported by our endowment and annual operating funds:

ENDOWMENT

  • Denis Simpson Fund apprenticeships so BIPOC emerging artists can break into the theatre industry
  • Silver Commissions so playwrights can write new plays
  • Bill Millerd Artist Fund grants so artists can hone their skills at any point in their careers
  • Free education programs, like the Arts Club Drama Club for equity-deserving youth

OPERATING

  • Hundreds of costumes for the productions on our stages
  • Designers, technicians, and backstage crew for each show
  • Subsidized tickets for youth to attend our productions
  • Artistic development programs like the Emerging Playwrights’ Unit
