"Although I’m not a native of Vancouver, I’ve learned enough about Red Robinson and those years to understand the nuances and local references. I enjoyed the show immensely and found myself frequently singing along quietly with the players. I knew the words!! An altogether delightful production"
"I gave these tickets to a friend for her birthday and she called me to say that the show was absolutely great. Very lively and uplifting"
"A show filled with energy, exceptional talent, and of course, great music. I was lucky to have seen the original show 17 summers ago and have often hoped that you would bring it back. I attended with my youngest daughter originally, and my 20-year-old granddaughter on Saturday. She thought it was wonderful”
—Judith, West Vancouver
"High energy and highly entertaining; every actor put their all into it. I saw this many years ago and remembered that I enjoyed it, and yet this production exceeded my expectations. Great end to a thoroughly enjoyable season"
"High energy! Loved the music! The cast brought the ’50s era back to life. Definitely a must-see!"
—Lorraine, New Westminster
"We loved the show. GRRRRReat singing and dancing. Loved how they got a few audience members up on stage and then sweetly got them off with a game of musical chairs. Also loved the saxophone playing Big Bopper"
—Loni and Christopher, Victoria
"It was the soundtrack of my life. ‘Yeah!’ to the Arts Club for a great show. All the performers were absolutely wonderful, talented people, but the person who stood out for me was Colin Sheen. It was a treat to watch him. Well done all of you"
"Absolutely a blast! Great time, amazing energy! Colin Sheen is such an amazing performer!! I'm definitely sending more people to see this!!"
"An outstanding show full of energy, action, and chemistry. The time flew by and left me wanting more of the fabulous show I was watching. We couldn't stop talking about it with anyone that would listen; our server at dinner, concierge at the hotel, via e-mail and Facebook. You will really miss out if you don't see this show"
"Absolutely fantastic! I could barely sit still in my seat. What an incredibly talented group of amazing people on stage, the musicians as well as the performers. If you like 50s music, you MUST attend this show or you will regret it. I am hoping to go again before it's over. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!"
—Jayne, North Vancouver
"What an amazing show! We loved every minute of this production; the singing, the set, the dancing, the costumes, etc. There was such talent and high energy on that stage. Thank you, Arts Club, for a memorable evening"
—Michelle, North Vancouver
"As two of the four of us attending last night's performance had to be at work in Courtenay this morning we had to slide out during the applause in order to be on the last ferry. As seasoned theatergoers, it felt exceptionally rude to do so. Please pass on our accolades to the fine cast; we appreciated all of the show but especially the amount of energy that went into it. We were concerned at the beginning as our two previous shows were so outstanding (Helen Lawrence & Kim's Convenience) but we hummed all the way to the ferry!"
"Had me engaged from the moment the lights went down. Fantastic performances by all. What a feel good evening. Did not want it to stop"
"I Absolutely loved every minute of it. Two hours of feel good entertainment; very nostalgic and the audience participation was wonderful. I have never seen so many smiling faces at any other theater production. All performers did a brilliant job; I highly recommend seeing this, especially if you relate to this era"
—Cathy, Maple Ridge
"Outstanding talent! I loved every minute of it. I felt like I was watching a Broadway production"
"Enormous fun! Wonderful music with actual melodies and seriously lively. Would like to see it again!"
"Fantastic performance, loved the talent, huge energy just a great evening"
"The performance this time around was as excellent as the previous two times that I saw it many years ago. Zachary did not let me down in one of the lead roles and I enjoyed his performance here as much as I did in the three times that I saw his Buddy show in the past. As I said to the gentleman sitting beside me last night: ‘The music never gets old even though we are getting older’!"
—Jim, West Vancouver
"A thoroughly enjoyable performance of this wonderful review of music and dance from the beginning of rock 'n' roll in Vancouver. Both intermission and finale came far too soon for us. This met all our expectations for the second time around as we saw the original. Great stuff"
"It was a great show. The music and dancing was something that the audience could relate to. I'd like to see more of this type of show included in the mix"
—Wally, Port Coquitlam
"Outstanding production; the set, musicians and vocals were amazing. Well done. We need more of this type of "happy" show"
A '50s Rock 'n' Roll Review with top of the line acting and singing performances. This performance resonated with the entire audience. The actors and actresses connected with us and audience participation was a delight. Excellent directing, acting and behind the scene staff. A lifetime of fond memories from this presentation. Highly recommended!"
"The play was fantastic, high energy, and amazing talent from all of the performers! It was very difficult for me to sit still through the entire performance! I really thought the audience appreciated the music they grew up with and the amazing dancers! I would with not hesitate to recommend this musical to all my friends young and old!!!"
"A great story, well cast, with a strong band and so much fun to see images of Vancouver's past. My husband and I had our first date at Ward Music!"
"As usual the 4 of us in our family were the first to stand up and applaud and we were happy to see that the rest followed. Excellent performance as were all the others. I got to go up on stand and rock along with the crew and I knew every word of the songs. My family laughed as they know I love this sort of thing. We bought the CD's to play in the car and do a sing-a-long. This kind of team effort is so awesome. Keep it coming"
—Ken, West Vancouver
"It was absolutely fantastic!! We had heard so many good things about this show and were so glad we went"
—Pat and Dave

"High energy! Loved the music! The cast brought the 50s era back to life. Definitely a must-see!"
—Lorraine, New Westminster
"Red Rock Diner is a must-see; captivating from start to finish. The music of the late 1950s was a throwback to my youth and parent's vinyl 45 records. Apologies to my adjacent playgoers for rocking away in my chair to the amazing music, I could not help myself. The actors are that good!"
—Mark, North Vancouver
"This show is a blast; high energy, and lots of fun hearing the classic tunes. The cast is superb, including an outstanding group of musicians"
"Cannot imagine from where they draw that amount of energy and engagement performance after performance! Each performer multi-dimensional and multi-talented, wow. While I knew almost all the songs, I was about a decade later and that is where my emotional tie-in would be strongest. Appreciated the audience involvement segment; they all appeared to be having fun"
"The "bestest" (my grandson's expression) performance my friend and I ever enjoyed! Going back to my youth and all the fun we used to have dancing (not wriggling on the floor these days) to a music with a melody you can remember. Thank you SOOOO much, we are probably going to see Red Rock Diner again"
"The performance was excellent. We were thoroughly entertained by the high quality of singing, choreography, and acting. We loved the energy and humour of this ensemble!"
"We enjoyed the show very much. Great energy and musicality. It brought back many memories!"

"Don't miss the opportunity to clap your hands and bop along rhythmically during this amazingly high-energy and entertaining production. A stellar cast and band makes this a 'not-to-miss' play celebrating the achievements of Vancouver DJ Red Robinson. You won't be disappointed but left wanting more! Outstanding!"
—Mark, Port Coquitlam
"A wonderful performance and a delightful walk down memory lane. The voices of the actors were strong and excellent renditions of the originals"

"EXCELLENT, the entire cast is just amazing! Have emailed friends that this is a must-see production!"

"Simply the most enjoyable performance I have ever attended in my life. I am 73 years old"
"Wonderful show!! Great fun from start to finish with solid performances from the entire cast. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a high-energy, toe-tapping night out at the theatre. Bravo!!"
"An absolutely fantastic show! High energy and fun. Every one of the cast was amazing. Will recommend it to anyone who will listen to me! Would love to see it again and again"
"One of the best musicals; it was superb. What a great way to spend an afternoon. I laughed so hard. Sang. The cast were phenomenal and deserved the standing ovation they received"
"A great performance! So much fun! It had everybody clapping and singing along. Definitely one of the best of the season for the Arts Club"
"Excellent production. Slick production, singing wonderful and for those who remember the 50s a treat. Every song was wonderful. Great job!!!"
"It was terrific and lots of fun. It is our era of music so we really loved it, but I think that most people will like it. The singers and musicians were great; the choreography was good;, the show never got boring; the music just kept coming. If the young man who sang "Cry" by Johnnie Ray always sings so energetically and with such feeling, how do the others ever stand a chance of "winning" the competition?"
"What a phenomenal way to spend a couple of hours, reveling in the wonderful music of the 1950s at the Arts Club Red Rock Diner on Granville Island Stage. Kudos to everyone involved in the production—casting, direction, choreography, technicians, musicians, actors—all stellar in their own right. It was especially exciting to see Colin Sheen in a leading role, what a fierce talent he has become, and it was also great to see Zachary Stevenson perform again. Thanks for keeping the good times rolling!"
"Fantastically entertaining from start to finish!"
"Energizing, toe tapping, absolutely takes you back to the 50s and 60s! Reliving my childhood's music was great!"
"Wonderful! Highly recommended; the enthusiasm and talent of the performers is inspiring"
"I loved this show! Everything about this show was great, from the staging to the music and the dancing! Please extend it so that I can see it again with more friends!"
"It was very energizing to be in the audience!"
"Awesome, went with my 46-year-old daughter, we both knew all the songs except for two. It was worth every penny for the energy all of those actors produced! Kudos to all"
—Eve, Port Coquitlam
"Love, Love, Loved it; the cast was amazing"
"WOW! What an exhilarating evening. How can a person not feel great about life after an almost impeccable performance like this? It left a song in our hearts and a spring in our step all the way home. While all the performers, actors, actresses and band members did a great job, the high-energy performance of Colin Sheen was particularly noted. The stage management and lighting must have been a huge job, but was done precisely, with never a miss"
"What fun! We, along with the rest of the audience, thoroughly enjoyed Red Rock Diner. Great memories were revived and we both sang along heartily. Everything about this show was fabulous. The accomplished cast are all great singers and dancers and the band was superb. The matinee was a sell-out and it’s no wonder why. We have been subscribers for 13 years and this show has to rank among our top 5 favourites. Congratulations Arts Club and THANK YOU!"
"What a great evening! The energy and talent of every cast member was remarkable. My husband and I go to lots of shows from Niagara on the Lake, Toronto, Stratford, New York, to London—this performance is on par with the best of anything we've attended. A standing ovation to the cast and crew and hats off to the Arts Club for a wonderful production"
"Attended Red Rock Diner last night and what a surprise! I'm well on in age and this show made me feel like I was 16 again. Great music with a good cast. I have tickets for the July 17 performance and can't wait to see it again. This production will get you rocking. Don't miss it!"
"Wonderful! Very energetic, lots of fun, and with very talented performers. One of the best I have seen at the Arts Club. Kudos!!"
"This was the best production of this show that we have seen!!! The singing was superb and the musicians were wonderful. The entire audience was enthralled. Such great talent on the Vancouver stage; kudos to all. It was also really special to see and hear Richmond local Brett Ziegler, so talented! A wonderful music-filled night!!"
"Excellent show with great audience involvement and a nice summer feel! Nice to see artists enjoying their craft"
—Mike, West Vancouver
"It took me back to many years ago. I graduated from King Edward High School but in 1952. Yes, before Red Robinson, but still from King Ed. So much nostalgia, but absolutely great"
"It was an amazingly high energy show, the pace never let up. We shared the Arts Club season with longtime friends and we all agreed that this was the best possible way to end the 2013/14 season. In discussing the show afterwards over dinner, we felt that every cast member was strong, and thus there was no weak link. The staging effectively conjured a time that now seems so long ago. The actors took us on a heart-warming journey down memory lane. Congratulations!"
"Best show this year! Loved the music and how the show combined the history of rock and roll and the story of Red, a Vancouver icon. I will be telling all my friends they should see it. Hopefully you will bring it back, so I can see it again. Bravo and encore!"
"Simply an excellent, toe-tapping, experience! The performances were very professional all around; the singers and musicians slick as velvet. The decor in real time! A true glimpse into the Red Robinson era in Vancouver and in Vancouver no less!"
"This was an awesome performance. I loved it from the opening number to the finale. The music and actors were excellent. I can’t wait to see it again with my husband. It brought me back to the day at the PNE when Elvis was to arrive. That was the first time I heard the name Red Robinson. I was 9 and just as excited as all the older teenagers that had gathered there that day"
"Fun! Great songs and well-performed which brought back lots of memories. Not since the days of Sha Na Na have I seen such a well done 50s revue. The bits of Vancouver and Red Robinson history were a plus"
"A fun, rocking show that makes you want to sing and dance. WOW!"
"It was an emotional trip to the past. I used to listen to Red and later Jack (Cullen) while at Kits. The performers were super, super fantastic; singing and dancing as though they had been resurrected from the 50s. I couldn't sit still, just had to bop and swing with them. And the ensemble was 'right on' and terrific all the way. Zachary was so cool that he was hot; a true representative of the glory days of Rock and Roll. Such an amazing talent; singing, dancing and playing both guitar and sax in a perfect tribute to Red and his dedication to the promotion of Rock and Roll"
"Fabulous Show. We've seen Red Rock Diner 3 times, 3 different productions, at different times and my husband and I feel this show was the best one of all. Standing ovations are rare for musicals but this production certainly had one. Enjoyed greatly"
"Loved this production. Excellent singing with very high energy. This is the 3rd time I've seen it and will certainly recommend it to all my friends"
—Florence, Port Moody
"Good rocking for sure. What a highly talented bunch of Rockers both Gals and Guys. Yes we must see it again!!! Chantilly Lace, you Rocked the Place; that's what we like. The stars from the past must have been watching this show. Yea! They were back at the hop for just a brief moment in time. Grreeaatttt! Oh! Who was that good-looking guy on the base? Reminds us of some guy we know"
"The show was wonderful, the performers worked really hard!!!! We enjoyed the evening"
"Fun from beginning to end!!!"
—Murray, North Vancouver
"We found the performance excellent and then some. It was fun, upbeat, and the music and dancing were terrific. More of the same would be most welcome as we are season ticket holders and have been for many years"
"Terrific performances by all; it was interesting to watch the continuity and the use of so many "major" characters—no main focus at all—a fine tribute to Uncle Red, I'd say"
"Oh my goodness; it was simply great. The cast worked exceptionally hard and never ran out of energy, they acted like it was their first time & were really enjoying it. We knew the words to every song except two. I was very impressed by the House Manager when we left: my 4-month pregnant daughter was up on stage for Musical Chairs, she fell a bit trying to grab the last chair & the House Manager stopped her on the way out to make sure she was okay and hadn't hurt herself. The whole evening was wonderful for us! Thanks!!"
"Fantastic show, one of the best this season. My high school and my brother’s graduation year. Great actors. We will see it for a second time"
"My husband and I really enjoyed the show. It was fun, energetic, and thoroughly entertaining. Singers and dancers were fantastic. Music was wonderful. It was a great evening"
"We thoroughly enjoyed the production of Red Rock Diner last night! It was fast-paced, fun, and beautifully produced. Great casting, costumes, and the band was wonderful! We ended up chatting with the folks behind us about King Edward High (which my mother attended) and the arcane traditions of graduation events of our times. Lots of fun and some singing/clapping along which is good too"
—Muff and Doug, Squamish
"FAB! We all completely enjoyed it and were thoroughly entertained! Outstanding turbo energy throughout and talent extraordinaire! Really appreciated those who could also play instruments (besides acting, singing, and dancing) making them 'quadruple threats'! Loved how you wove Vancouver in along with ALL the music! GREAT writing and directing. Great that it's family-friendly too. Keep up the AMAZING work! Thank you for a wonderful night!"
"What an incredibly fun afternoon. The talent always amazes us! Singing, dancing, comedy—they did it all in one play. The music brought us back to a more gentle and innocent time. When you have the entire audience give a 5 minute standing ovation, you know you have a hit on your hands. Bravo to the cast and all. I can't stop telling anyone who listens to get out there and buy your tickets for a great musical!"
"The show was FABULOUS! We are a married couple, graduates of high school in 1953, therefore in the midst of the rock ‘n’ roll, Red Robinson, the need to "get a job" which did not hurt us at all, the revolutionary Elvis Presley, the reaction of parents to Presley (actually we agreed with the reaction), the events of the day portrayed in the photos of events of those days. The energy and talent of all the actors and musicians was wonderful. They obviously worked hard, and obviously enjoyed the time. The standing O given at the end of the show by the audience was sincere. Congratulations and thanks to the cast, crew, and the Arts Club in general"
"What a great show, thank you. Every singer was strong, and the dancing was high-energy and well-choreographed. It seemed as if all involved in the show were having a wonderful time, and that emotion fed into the audience. All seven in our party loved every minute. A number of us will probably try to go back to see it again, from closer to the stage"
"A superb production of Red Rock Diner. Shaper compared to previous production. Vivacious, agile, Colin Sheen singing 'Crying' was heart-stopping. A production so well-done is much appreciated. Thank you"
"Very enjoyable performance! Lots of great music and a talented high energy cast. Wonderful live musicians really made a difference as well. I would highly recommend this show"
—Lesley, North Vancouver
"Simply Fantastic; as was most of this season!!!"
"FABULOUS, especially for those of us in the right age group and/or who appreciate superbly talented performers"
"Fabulous show, amazing talent"
—Paula, Port Moody
"Awesome evening! We were thoroughly entertained"
"A great show; thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you"
—Margaret, North Vancouver
"Great show; the best this season. It was wonderful to see, for a change, the energy given by the performers. What was great was that the actors were the characters, not just playing a part, which has been the case for so many performances in recent shows at the Mainstage. This may be in part because of the actual play itself lends itself to a very upbeat theme. This is what Entertainment is about. Thank you cast for a wonderful evening"
"Excellent performance. Great voices. Great musicians. Great selection of songs. Fast-moving. You know everyone in the theatre was enjoying the show and of course the actors were too! Loved the pace and all the action. Thumbs up to Arts Club and all those involved in putting on this great show"
—John, West Vancouver
"A most excellent performance to close out the package of shows for our season ticket package. It was our return to subscribing, and it was coincidentally the 50th anniversary. We certainly got great value for the season and the shows were most enjoyable. Looking forward to next season's package of shows for which we renewed our subscription. Laura who handed out the hearing enhancement sets and made the pre-performance announcements has been most gracious and attentive to our needs along with the needs of the shows' casts"
"That was a blast from the past! I teared up hearing those oldies! Loved the energy, costumes, and music. Those kids were having FUN!"
"Absolutely great rockin’ walk down memory lane! Thoroughly entertaining and a terrific cast. Great to see Zachary ‘Buddy’ too"
"Need more fun musicals like this; it was great"
"Lots of fun!!!"
"A fantastic tour down memory lane. Fast paced, colourful with great singing and dancing. Growing up in Vancouver made it very meaningful"
"Without doubt one of the best musical revue performances I've ever seen; and I see a lot of musicals in Vancouver, NYC, and London. I enjoyed every minute of this show and, even though I'm not a long time Vancouverite, I enjoyed the historical context within which the show operates. I would see it again. And I would recommend it to anyone who has any interest in music from the late 1950s/early 1960s. Well done!"
"I just loved the whole show. It's so much fun to relive our teens through dance and music. The performers were excellent"
"Am not sure why we got seats as we could hardly sit still! My 84-year-old guest jived throughout the whole show! The 87 year old man in the row behind did likewise! This is the most fantastic review of the 50s; the actors are brilliantly cast, and exude so much energy and verve that you feel 50 years reduced from your own age! The musicians are exemplary! So clever to have audience participation; maybe some undiscovered thespians came out of the woodwork! Tremendous! We left the theatre transported back to our teenage years, and at least 4 ft. off the pavement! SIMPLY SPLENDID! A huge pat on the back to all involved. Thank you; couldn't have asked for more!"
"This was "OUR" show. It was the right time in our lives to relive the experiences of our youth. We enjoyed every minute of the show. The energy was over the top! The actors had to be exhausted when it was over. Perfect timing, my High School had just celebrated its 100, so reminiscing is just the thing! Congratulations on another season well enjoyed"
"Fabulous! I am still singing the great oldies in my head! Wonderfully entertaining"
"This show was fabulous. Each and every one of the musicians in this production was superb. I have been to many productions where I paid far more for the tickets and the voices were not nearly as good as what we experienced at this show. The bonus is that this show teaches the audience about Red Robinson, a local legend"
"Really enjoyed the energy and it gave me a new insight into Red Robinson; I have seen him on Global TV but, being an Ontario immigrant to BC, I did not really appreciate what an icon he is. The cast was great but we really enjoyed Colin Sheen; he was captivating and is obviously destined to be a big star, and Neil Minor who brought Red alive. Very talented band too, especially on keys. Great way to end the season and leave us waiting for the next one"
"Amazing and I loved it! So upbeat and fun, I couldn't stop moving in my seat!"
"Fun! Look at the audience, most of us were teens when Red and rock ruled. Worthy for an annual dose of nostalgia"
"Red Rock Diner was far better than expected. The cast was energetic to the max! Nothing more need be said. It's a must-go-see regardless of your age"
"Great show and very well-performed. A wonderful evening's entertainment"
"We loved it and the actors knew we loved it because they got a standing ovation! Took us back a few years. We all agreed that we had more fun than our counterparts of today!"
—Eve, North Vancouver
"It was great; loved the music and the energy of the cast"
"What an awesome play. The cast was having so much fun and really got the crowd involved. Loved it! Well done"
"Terrific! A high-energy romp through 50s & 60s music history here in Vancouver. Very true to the period with the costumes, dance moves, and advertising. Great performances all round but we were especially impressed with Johnny B (Colin Sheen); amazing voice and his dance moves and acrobatics were equally impressive."
—Sue, Halfmoon Bay
"The Red Rock Diner was a fabulous show. I felt as though I had been transported back to 1957. The songs were so catchy and the sparse dialogue so interesting that I didn't want the show to end. Book tickets now. I'm sure that soon there won't be any left"
"I am an older Vancouverite and I just loved the Red Rock Diner! The musicians, dancers, and actors are very talented and depict the era with great energy, wonderful songs, and dance routines. The musical really captures the 50s era in Vancouver. You've got a hit!"
"Fabulous! Good powerful voices, acting skill strong, energy level phenomenal, audience involvement entertaining, and just overall toe-tapping fun!"
